M.H. Wolfe and Associates Environmental Consulting, Inc., (MHWA) provides quality biological services and professionally trained staff, who are highly sought out by clients and other environmental contractors for our high level of environmental expertise, offering over 50 years of combined experience and expertise in the San Joaquin Valley and other areas.  Our professional experience includes conducting biological surveys in the southern San Joaquin Valley, the Tehachapis, Mojave Desert, coastal areas as well as surrounding areas and other states to evaluate biota, soils, streams and wetlands and threatened and endangered species.  Most surveys conducted have been for private and public parties, agencies and cities, including the cities of Delano, McFarland, Shafter, Bakersfield and Arvin, California.

The products of evaluation have included extensive biota reports for developments and zoning changes and biological assessments for agency consultations.  A number of these projects have been for various water management agencies.  We also have worked on the Kern Water Bank several years under a maintenance contract with McIntosh and Associates for the California Department of Water Resources (DWR).  MHWA works on both short-term and long-term on-call projects, having provided biological services for the Friant Water Authority (FWA and FWUA) for over 15 years.  MHWA is renown for reclamation and revegetation expertise on drastically disturbed lands, particularly in New Mexico and California.  In addition to one-time turn around projects, we hold on-call contracts for biological services, compliance monitoring and CEQA preparation with municipalities, as well as residential and industrial companies.  The end product of our work attracts new clients and retains positive business relationships with current clients who trust the efficiency and quality offered by MHWA.

Our objectives are to assist our clients in meeting their goals by being highly responsive and providing the highest level of technical and professional competence. We work with other associates as necessary, large and small, to provide a combined high level of expertise designed to meet each individual client’s specific needs.

Experience
Marcia H. Wolfe, President, has many years of experience in environmental permitting, compliance, mitigation, planning, and resource management, including environmental design and implementation of disturbed land reclamation and revegetation for wildlife habitats and rangelands.  Staff has specialized experience as Certified Environmental Inspectors, conducting bat surveying and analyses, radio telemetry, bird surveys, lizard surveys, night surveying, tracking, camera station use and more.
Innovation

MHWA has proven ability to design and implement innovative approaches for complex environmental compliance management issues.  We strive to make environmental compliance revenue saving or producing when possible.  Marcia H. Wolfe streamlined ARCO’s exploration program with development of the Coles Levee Ecosystem Preserve threatened and endangered species mitigation bank, leading to extensive financial savings and improved return on capital employed for the client.

Efficiency
MHWA strives to provide cost effective and responsive consulting services. We may serve directly as technical support staff on long term contracts, for on-call assistance or as a contractor on specific projects.  MHWA works as a team with clients and associates to address specialized project needs.  Incorporating environmental constraints analyses and planning into early project planning can save both time and project budgets.  Doing so helps to ensure last minute project hang-ups do not occur.

Technical Competence
MHWA has established a reputation of a high level of technical competence recognized by federal, state and local governmental agencies, environmental groups and among professional technical societies on specialized environmental issues.  We grow our employees of all classes at all levels of professional and technical expertise.  All our biologists are deamed “qualified biologists” by US Fish and Wildlife Service, California Fish and Wildlife and other agencies.
